If you're anything like me, chocolate is life. Unfortunately, because chocolate is out on AIP you might be dying a little inside. Don't fear – here are 7 different AIP chocolate ideas that are very “chocolatey” without the chocolate!
Cocoa powder, cacao powder and chocolate are all derived from seeds, so they aren't allowed on the elimination portion of the AIP Diet.
However, carob powder IS allowed, and makes an amazing chocolately substitute that can satisfy your cravings. The following recipes use carob powder to help you get through this chocolate-free period of your life.

AIP Chocolate Raspberry Pudding Parfaits
These parfaits are composed of layers of chocolate pudding, raspberry compote, coconut whipped cream, and a chocolate cookie crumble.
To make them AIP you just need to use carob instead of cocoa powder – but they're absolutely delicious this way. And despite the many layers they only take 15 minutes to make!

AIP Pomegranate Carob Bites
Keep these decadent bites of goodness in your freezer for when you need that sweet bite.
To make these you simply need to mix together the ingredients, spoon them into some paper muffin liners inside of a muffin tin and refrigerate or freeze! Easy Peasy.

AIP Chocolate Sauce
This is a supplementary recipe for my AIP Cassava Flour Pancakes, but it makes the pancakes really crazy good. Like holiday morning good. But of course you can also use this chocolate sauce on ice cream, over fresh fruit, over grilled bananas, or um, just by the spoonful?

AIP Hot Chocolate
What list of chocolate things would be complete without this drink? This is not only a recipe for the drink though – it's one for making a MIX that can be stored and then quickly used when the urge strikes. You know, like having those little packets of instant hot chocolate, only in an AIP-friendly form!

AIP Carob Covered Apples
Instead of chocolate covered apples, have carob covered ones! They're just as cool because you can still add toppings to make them festive, and they're super fun to make.
