Yes, I still take thyroid meds (I have to- my thyroid was damaged from the Hashimoto’s autoimmune attack and can’t produce enough hormone), but together with these above I feel great. And you can too!!

It’s not actually a thyroid problem. But that’s good! Because then it can actually be addressed and you can get your energy back, lose the weight, stop the pain, and feel normal again.

If you have Hashimoto’s, you have antibodies again

If you have Hashimoto’s, you have antibodies against your thyroid tissue (or the potential to make them).

Unfortunately to the body, thyroid tissue proteins and proteins in gluten look extremely similar.

So when you eat gluten, and through certain reasons, the gluten proteins get into the immune layer under your gut lining, your already confused immune system sees the gluten and sends out a system-wide message to attack.

But your body doesn’t know the difference between the gluten and your thyroid and just attacks it all.

This process is called molecular mimicry and is just one of the ways eating can be problematic for those with Hashimoto’s.
