For 8 years, I battled symptoms no one could explain: bone-deep fatigue, heart palpitations, hair loss, heavy periods, low-grade fevers, chills, brain fog, weight that wouldn’t budge—even while doing “everything right.”
I was on Levothyroxine. I got my labs checked. I followed every doctor’s instruction.
But nothing helped for long. And deep down, I was terrified something bigger was wrong.
I remember crying alone in my closet, convinced I was dying—and no one was listening.

Eventually, I found a functional medicine practitioner who gave me a real answer:
Hashimoto’s. An autoimmune disease attacking my thyroid.
I had no idea that 90% of hypothyroidism cases are caused by Hashimoto’s… or that the meds I was taking did nothing to stop the immune system from destroying my thyroid.
So I decided to stop the attack.
I changed my diet, addressed the inflammation, and supported my body on every level.
Within weeks—I felt better than I had in 15 years.
And over time, I went from barely functioning to hiking mountains, doing yoga and Barre, camping with my family, and fully showing up for the life I thought I’d lost.
Today, I’m symptom-free, energized, and finally at home in my body.
And now I help other women get there too.

Chronic stress is a major driver of autoimmunity. Learning to regulate your nervous system, release stored trauma, and reset your stress response is a core part of healing.

You don’t need punishing workouts—you need movement that supports your hormones and doesn’t trigger a flare. Think: walking, Qi Gong, yoga, and strength (done gently).

IF I WASN´T A COACH..
I’d probably still be a computer programmer (I did that for 16 years!). I’ve always loved solving complex problems—and now I get to do that with women’s health.
MY FAV MUSIC BANDS..
I’m a jam band girl through and through. I’ve seen Phish over 35 times and Goose is my latest obsession. Luckily, they both come through Denver once a year—so I don’t even have to travel to get my fix.
I´M MOST THANKFUL FOR...
My family. My husband and two teenage sons mean everything to me. And I couldn’t do any of this without my amazing team here at Thriving Autoimmune.
I LOVE TO EAT..
Food. Yes. All of it. Indian, Mexican, Thai, Moroccan, Italian—you name it, I’m in (just hold the seaweed… sushi is not my thing).
IDEAL VACATION
Disney World or Disneyland—hands down. I’m a full-on Disney adult and proud of it. You’ll find me there from rope drop to fireworks, dragging my family across the parks like a woman on a mission.

2006
DIAGNOSED WITH HYPOTHYROIDISM
After finishing my second full Ironman triathlon, I hit a wall I couldn’t push through. I was exhausted, foggy, and convinced something was wrong. Bloodwork revealed hypothyroidism, and I was prescribed Levothyroxine. For a little while, it helped. But not for long.
2014
EVERYTHING CHANGED
By this point, I was doing everything “right”—adjusting my meds, eating clean, exercising daily—but I felt worse than ever.
Weight gain, brain fog, crushing fatigue, hair loss… and no answers.
I finally found a functional medicine practitioner who tested me properly and diagnosed me with Hashimoto’s and Celiac. That’s when I learned:
It wasn’t just my thyroid—it was my immune system.
Once I started healing the root causes, everything began to shift.
